Workshop Lead Teacher Intern

Work Responsibilities: Lead STEAM workshops. Zoom hosting. Classroom hosting. Provide a fun, creative, safe, and welcoming environment for students to learn hands-on STEAM. Work with teaching teams to recruit students and ensure students are individually supported. Guide students through our pre-existing STEAM lesson plans. Write final reports for workshop wrap up. Paid training is provided. Lead teacher coordinates regularly with the Lead Workshop Facilitator. Learn more about our workshops at http://startechga.org 

 

Qualifications Needed: 18 years of age or older. High school diploma/GED & some college education preferred. 1-2+ years experience working with youth preferred. 1-2+ years experience with tutoring or instructing is preferred. Experience using Zoom or Microsoft Teams preferred. Ability to commit to a full program cycle of 14 weeks. Covid-19 Vaccine Card. Must pass a criminal background check. Must provide 3 references.

 

Part-Time Schedule: Internship starts approximately September 15, 2025 and ends December 19, 2025 (14 weeks total). 7 hrs/week with paid training (training is 50% Remote). Must be available Monday and Wednesday afternoons for the scheduled workshops, but the additional days/hours have some flexibility. 

 

Workshop Locations: Southwest Teen Life Center, Cleveland High School

 

Pay: $26/hr 

Work Responsibilities - Assisting: Assist the Lead Workshop Facilitator with scheduling, coordinating, recruiting, research, Zoom hosting, classroom hosting, data entry, errands, etc.

 

Work Responsibilities - Teaching: Provide a fun, creative, safe, and welcoming environment for students to learn hands-on STEAM. Work with teaching teams to recruit students and ensure students are individually supported. Guide students through our pre-existing STEAM lesson plans. Write final reports for workshop wrap up. Qualifications Needed: 18 years of age or older. High school diploma/GED preferred. Experienced communicator and team worker. Experience working independently. Experience working with youth is preferred. Experience using Zoom or Microsoft Teams preferred. Ability to commit to a full program cycle of 16 weeks. Covid-19 Vaccine Card. Driver’s license. Vehicle. Must pass a criminal background check. Must provide 3 references.

 

Part-Time Schedule: Internship starts approximately September 3, 2025 and ends December 19, 2025 (16 weeks total). 10hrs/week with paid training (training is 50% Remote). Must be available Monday and Wednesday afternoons in person for the scheduled workshops and recruiting days, etc. The additional days/hours have some flexibility (typically 4 hour shifts). 

 

Workshop Locations: Southwest Teen Life Center, Cleveland High School

 

Pay: $26/hr + $300 for Mobile Classroom & Marketing Set-up, etc.

Work Responsibilities - IT Intern: Transport and sets-up workshop 3-D printers, computing workstations,

and internet connections. Maintains the integrity of all workshop computer workstations, devices, internet connectivity, associated software, and data storage. Troubleshoot training and workshop computing concerns. Conduct network backup operations.

IT related education is preferred. 1-2+ years experience in computer networks and systems maintenance preferred. 1-2+ years experience on current computing systems preferred. 3-D Printing experience preferred (but training is provided). Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to workshop teachers. Experience working with youth preferred. Experience with tutoring or instructing is preferred. Experience using Zoom or Microsoft Teams preferred. Covid-19 Vaccine Card. Driver’s license. Vehicle. Ability to commit to a full program cycle of 16 weeks. Must pass a criminal background check. Must provide 3 references.
