The STEAM Discovery Project is a series of free workshops that introduce interesting careers in STEAM fields, as well as the educational pathways and resources to get there.

Spring 2021 Workshop series is complete! Special thanks to Seattle Parks & Recreation, City of Seattle Department of Information Technology, and all the volunteers and attendees that made this possible! Workshop recordings in English are now available with translations coming soon.

How to Attend

Each workshop is FREE and will be held Virtually on the Zoom video-calling platform. No software download is needed, you can "join meeting from the browser" (e.g., Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox).

The Zoom link for each workshop will be posted on this website and on the home page. Just go to http://steamdiscoveryproject.org and the link will be there.

Participants are welcome to attend from home or from the COVID-compliant community locations. The dates for each location are on the flyer.

Participants are welcome to use their own devices (laptops or phones both work with Zoom). Each community location also has 5 laptops for participants to use, first come first serve.

Free Pizza + Swag + How to Win $25

Each location will have free pizza. Signups help us plan to have enough food.

For each location, the first 10 participants to sign up and complete the workshop will win $25 Amazon gift cards. The gift cards will be emailed soon after the workshop completion.

For each location, all participants who complete the workshop will receive a swag pack (tote bag, buttons, magnets, stickers).

Please note that there is a very brief exit survey we will ask you to complete at the end of the workshop. The exit survey helps us learn how to improve the workshops, and that information is what helps keep this program free of charge.

Workshop Recordings

We plan to record each workshop and translate it into multiple languages so that others can get the same awesome information.

By participating in the workshop, you are agreeing to the recording of the workshop. Recordings will be posted on our website and made available to the community locations so that other community youth will have access.
